Fit for Thriving was created by Becky Perkins, a communications professional with nearly 20 years’ experience increasing the capacity, visibility, reach, and effectiveness of numerous organizations. The bulk of Becky’s career has been focused on supporting nonprofit organizations, including a chapter of Big Brothers Big Sisters and a statewide nonprofit sexual assault coalition. Additionally, Becky’s work in state government, a small business, and a hospital exposed her to the inner workings of different types of organizations and how effective communications and messaging shape the communities they serve.
Becky is a Credentialed Advocate with Advanced Standing and a Sexual Assault Intervention Specialist, as designated by the National Organization for Victim Assistance National Advocate Credentialing Program. Combatting violence against women and girls is Becky’s greatest passion, and she has frequently utilized her writing and graphic design skills to tell the story of anti-violence organizations. Her writing has also contributed to public policies that have increased access to justice for victims of crime and increased funding for crime victim services.
When not working in marketing and communications, Becky teaches private fitness classes, enjoys hiking in the Rocky Mountains, frequently gets lost in a good book, and dotes on her family and rescue dog.
